IMPORTANT COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Hardship Grant
The Victorian Government recently released the guidelines and application process for the Small Business COVID Hardship Grant.
Businesses who received the previous "Business Costs Assistance Program" grant will automatically receive the further amounts under that program.
The Hardship Grant had been created to provide support for businesses that were ineligible for the "Assistance Program". The businesses who missed out were typically not in the designated ANZIC codes.
The Hardship Grant is available to:
- a business located in Victoria, and
- directly impacted by COVID-19 restrictions, since 17 May 2021, and
- experienced a 70% reduction in turnover, and
- have an annual Victorian payroll of up to $10m in 2019-20, and
- be registered for GST as of 28 July 2021
- (see guidelines and application form for the full eligibility requirements)
While the Hardship grant will apply to more business i.e those impacted by COVID in any industry, it does not apply if you are NOT registered for GST.
Any Victorian business entity that is not registered for GST misses out again.
Any soletrader (individual) in Victoria not registered for GST should apply for the Services Australia Disaster Payment.
Any working owner of a business entity should consider their eligibility for the Disaster Payment.
